I have gotten a request for a cake decorated with foliage and garden snails. So I ask you, my dear imaginary readers, how do you make such slimy repulsive creatures look cute, sweet, and palatable?

I have chosen to answer this question with my usual reply: Chocolate! Chocolate! And more Chocolate!

Besides the chocolate decorations, this cake is an all white confection: vanilla chiffon cake with vanilla bean cream frosting.
